MEET THE MINIS
Big Mac & Levi were adopted after their caretaker passed away. They were abandoned, and we did not know their life stories.
They were closely bonded to each other, and were sweet, kind and shy.
We trained Big Mac and Levi according to the American Miniature Therapy Horse Association Qualification Standards. For more information on their training program, please visit The American Miniature Therapy Horse Association website

Big Mac

Big Mac is a Miniature Shetland Pony. His ancestors were bred in harsh environments and built for work on farms and in coal mines. Shetland ponies are sturdy, steadfast, and resilient.
Big Mac is brave, curious and affectionate.
The word "stubborn" gets thrown around a lot with Big Mac, but we like to call it "independent thinking."
Historically, these ponies survived in the harsh, rugged climate of the Shetland Islands, which required them to be self-reliant and determined.
Fun Fact: Big Mac can pull twice his body weight. The largest Clydesdale horse can only pull half of his own weight!
Levi

Levi is an American Miniature Pinto Horse. American Miniatures have been bred to look like full sized, elegant horses, but "shrunk down" like in a photocopier. Because he carries the genetics of refined riding horses (like Arabians and Thoroughbreds) "scaled down," Levi is highly sensitive to human emotion and body language. This deep intuition, combined with his gentle nature, is exactly why his breed is the preferred choice for therapy work—visiting hospitals, nursing homes, and acting as emotional support animals.
