Our Story
At Hooves of Happiness, Inc., we believe in the profound power of connection.
Founded by Lydia Vine—a passionate competitive show jumper and advocate for equine rescue and welfare—our organization was born from a deep understanding of equine behavior, biomechanics, and rehabilitation. Witnessing firsthand how horses can heal, Lydia envisioned a way to share that unique magic with those who need it most.
Today, Hooves of Happiness, Inc. is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing comfort, reducing isolation, and sparking joy.
Through our mobile equine-assisted therapy program, we bring beautifully trained miniature ponies directly to elderly individuals, disabled veterans, and underserved communities coping with trauma and disability.
Guided by our core pillars of Compassion, Connection, Dignity, Respect, and Happiness, our structured visits offer more than just a smile—they foster a healing bond that crosses generations, promoting emotional wellness and restoring a sense of belonging to our community's heroes and elders.
